  1. Go slow: add about 5 g per week; jumping from 12 g to 30 g overnight guarantees gas and cramping.
  2. Drink more water: insoluble fibre without fluid can worsen constipation instead of fixing it.
  3. Spread it across meals rather than loading one giant salad at night.
  4. Use isabgol strategically: 1 teaspoon of psyllium provides about 5 g of mostly soluble fibre and is well studied for both cholesterol and regularity.
  5. Pair fibre with protein at each meal for fullness; this combination is the quiet engine of any sustainable caloric deficit.
